 There are some companies that specialize in commercializing and manufacturing TV sets, but ultimately, this invention was created by a man named Paul Gottlieb Nipkow.

Nipkow's innovation lead to how we view light today and is a form of wireless communication that has lasted for more than 150 years without deviation or change. This is what led him to be credited as the inventor and he went on to patent his idea in 1884.

First, he created the scanning disk with a hole in the center and had the ability to scan a picture into the television screen line-by-line. His solution was later used by Scottish inventor John Logie Baird to create rudimentary color televisions.

 However, they both were beaten by another inventor named Vladimir Zworykin who actually created a complete television set and demonstrated it in 1927. His invention was not only color but also 3D.

In 1931, Philo Farnsworth was also credited for creating an electronic television that was affordable to use and easily added to commercial goods and services like search lights, airplane landing systems and military devices.

He sold many of his patents to RCA, which turned into the industry standard for all televisions and other such devices. American inventor Philo Taylor Farnsworth was the person who invented television.

Later in the 1970s, LCD and plasma screens were created and are now the way we see television today. Although they are significantly more expensive than CRT-based sets they are a lot more reliable, with less flickering than their predecessors and offer better resolution as well.
